    Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response

    SOS Technologies provides both on-site Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Training, as well as off-site courses for your employees to attend. These courses are designed to provide full compliance with Federal OSHA and DOT regulations. All training is directed by experienced, Certified HazMat Trainers with extensive professional backgrounds in the field of hazardous materials management.

    Course Awareness Level Training -This course trains employees to be aware of the presence of a hazardous substance, its potential danger and how to properly document and notify response personnel. Training includes introduction to hazardous materials, basic recognition and safety, command identification and assessment.

    Course Operations Level Training -Designed for those individuals who may need to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as a part of the initial response procedures. Employees are trained to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading and prevent exposures.

    Course Incident Response Technician Level Trainin -Trains a designated team to evaluate the severity of an incident and to take the appropriate action. The course covers emergency response, containment and control procedures, decontamination, chemical and toxicological hazards.

    Course On-Scene Incident Command System Training- Provides the skills to assume Incident Commander/Scene Manager role during any incident involving hazardous materials. Training involves field scene management, decontamination, documentation and reporting. Also included is incident pre-planning and contingency planning, as well as personal protective equipment strategies.

    Course 40-Hour Waste Worker Training -A comprehensive training for employees with daily exposure to hazardous materials who will provide on-site clean-up at Superfund Sites etc. Covers Federal regulatory requirements for hazardous waste workers, hazard recognition/evaluation/control, confined space hazards, decontamination procedures, spill containment, personal protective equipment training/certification and respiratory protection.

    Course 8-Hour Refresher Training -A one day workshop designed for all emergency response and hazardous waste workers under requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120. Training will update participants on revisions to the Federal and State health and safety regulations as well as the newest technical innovations, drills and exercises.

    Course 8-Hour Site Supervisor Training -A one day workshop designed to meet 29 CFR 1910.120 requirements as they apply to hazardous waste supervisors. The supervisor is trained how to present and implement the employer's health and safety plan. Participants will also be oriented in record keeping, documentation and spill containment techniques.

    DOT Hazardous Materials Training -This five to six hour course is designed to improve emergency preparedness for responding to incidents involving the transportation of hazardous materials. Training includes loading and unloading, storing and transporting, emergency response, and completion of shipping papers. Also covered is general awareness and familiarization, function-specific and safety training. Complies with DOT 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H.
